Group met to discuss streetcar strategy

Experts from Seattle,Charlotte, Little Rock, and Portland met with an audience of 150 at the University of Cincinnati on Tuesday to discuss how their cities got their streetcars up and running, as Cincinnati hopes to do.

City Manager Milton Dohoney said the session was meant to educate planners and city residents, and to offer material for his campaign to raise $30 million in private-sector contributions for the $182 million plan which still seems to face opposition.
One of the key pieces of advice was to start small and build from there. With urban areas across the country experiencing a rebirth, quality transportation is a key component to turning these areas around and attracting professionals to downtown.
