Westwood Residents hoping for quick end to Imperial Apartments

Westwood residents have their fingers crossed that this Friday the city will officially determine the property at 2570 Harrison to be a 'nuisance property" and that nuisance declaration will pave the way for its demolition.

Westwood has been very effective at strategic demolition of apartment buildings in their area as a way to reduce crime and problem parts. The Imperial at 33,600 square feet is one of the largest blighted apartment buildings built mostly in the 1950's and 1960's along Harrison Ave

The public hearing will be held Friday at 9 AM, 3300 Centrral Parkway. Westwood residents are encouraging everyone to turn out for thi hearing and lend their support for the demolition of this property which contributes nothing to the community.
