Sneak Peek: Our new "Victorian Heritage" Historic Stencils

Starting next year we will be rolling out a new line of 24 stencils all based on actual historic designs. These rare stencils have been acquired by us from a variety of sources and have not been available to the public in over a 100-120 years

The release of this new line , known as the "Victorian Heritage" line of stencils along with the Knox Hill Stencil sets will provide a new level of Preservation resources to those restoring historic homes.

Today we are taking a 'sneak peek' at the first in this series which will be released next week. The " Urn Dado" Stencil set, is a 12x 18 inch stencil design that was discovered on a cast iron fireplace mantle that was covered with blue latex paint. This design was was used on the side panels of the mantle and likely would have also been reproduced as a Dado in the room. ( The Dado area is that part of the wall above the baseboard and below the chair rail).

This design is ideal for formal parlors or hallways. A companion Border is being released as well which is  5 inches tall that can be used above the dado design for those of you that may have higher chair rails. This Renaissance Revival design would be appropriate for most Victorian homes built between 1840-1895. This stencil could be painted in solid color for a more "Neo Grec" look or the flower and stylized leaves could be picked out in other colors , The design possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

Of course we can custom size these stencils to fit your specific restoration need, please ask us about special order pricing.  remember if you are "paint or color challenged' we offer design services to help you with color selection and of course we do on site stencil painting.

The large dado design will sell for 24.95 and the border design will be 12.95. All of our stencils are printed on heavy 12 mil material not flimsy 8 mill material used by most stencil manufacturers. these stencils will hold up well for multiple use. Please contact me at if you want to pre order . We will begin shipping these January.
