Cincinnati Preservation Bargains: Jerome Ave

Not all Victorian homes are "flashy". Some present a formal facade and save the "eye candy" for the inside. Todays Preservation bargain is a good example of Victorian restraint. From the outside this house at 4135 Jerome Ave is very restrained and presents a nice simple brick Victorian facade

There are of course telltale clues like this leaded glass entry which really shines from the inside looking out.

There are also columns separating the entry hall from the front parlor and inlay floors.

This is just one of the several stained glass windows that adorn this house

MLS #1266816  4 generous sized bedrooms and 2 full baths , this home would meet the needs of anyone wishing a nice Victorian home that is essentially move in ready. Just bring your hammer to remove the 1960's paneling in a couple of rooms and paint to your pleasure. this home is offered by Tri State Homes. This home sits on a generous 85x110 foot lot too!

Do you know of a Preservation Bargain? A home that just needs a preservation minded buyer to bring it back to life? If so email me at victiques@gmail.com and give the the details. Since we started this series we have saved many homes from the clutches of slumlords or worse yet a city bulldozer. Restoring Cincinnati, one house at a time.
