Cincinnati Preservation Bargains: A Cottage with a Future!

Location, Location, Location! This cottage sits directly across from the Knox Hill Neighborhood Association's save-not-raze project (the Chas Wilkins house), and down the street from our own Nagele-Merz house restoration and there are 3 other "in progress" restorations on the block with more in the works.

This classic "shotgun cottage" is larger than it looks. Formal Parlor, Formal Dining room and a large kitchen on main floor . Two bedrooms on the upper floor and a walkout lower level means that this home has possibilities galore. Nicely detailed front door and some old light fixtures! Neighbors next door have lived there since the 1950's!

MLS#1286785  the home is listed at 22,000.00 by Proffitt real estate services, but is most likely a short sale/pre-foreclosure so we guess the price could be bought for as little as 5-7K. 1854 Knox Street  would be a great 'first project' for someone wanting to do a restoration or this would be an easy one for someone more experienced. As usual, KHNA will be happy to assist with restoration plans.

So you ask, what might this look like restored? We think something like this.
